We are introducing our new blog as a way to share information and answer common questions for you, our customers and readers. Our first topic is: My Jeep or truck has “death wobble” or “Ford shuffle”, what can I do about it?
Well, this is such a common question and one that could have multiple answers. However, the first things to check are for parts that may be loose, and secondly if the Jeep has just been lifted, was an alignment done?
Commonly with a suspension lift the geometry of the steering changes enough that an alignment should be performed. If your vehicle has had this problem for any length of time, it is very likely that other related parts can see damage or wear. These parts include shock bushings, sway bar drop links, stabilizer shock, ball joints and tie rod ends. An alignment done at the time of your suspension lift will help compensate for those changes and keep you from experiencing “death wobble” and related parts failure in your Jeep or truck.
Great job Matt
